Donald William Rivers

Donald William Rivers,84, passed away on March 20, 2015 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was born on April 19, 1930 in Emmett, Idaho to William and Gladys Rivers.
Donald joined the US Marines in 1949 and served for 4 years. He served in the Korean War and was the recipient of numerous medals for his service. He was discharged in 1953, achieving the rank of Corporal. Following his service in the US Marines, Don began work for the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Machinist Apprentice. He retired in 1985 as a Nuclear Inspector Supervisor after 35 years.
Donald married Marrion McComber in 1949 in San Francisco, CA., They were happily married for 64 years. Don was a member of the American Legion, NRA, RMEF. He enjoyed Hunting, Fishing, Camping, Woodwork, Shooting, Reloading, telling stories, and most of all, collecting friends . He was an expert marksman in all aspects of shooting.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, and wife..
Donald is survived by his mother Gladys Rivers (102 years old) of Dallas, Or, daughters Donna Rauter, of Mt. Vernon, WA. & Diana (John) Rollins of Olalla, WA. His brothers Gerald Rivers of Dallas, OR, Lavar (Lois) Rivers of Nampa, ID, Eldon (Nancy) Rivers of Dallas,OR., grand children Lisa (Robert) Miller of Seabeck, WA, Dawn (Randy) Senitz of Port Orchard, WA., and his great-grandchildren Alexa Olson of Pacific Beach, CA, Skyler Olson, Dayton Miller, Ashton Miller and River Miller of Seabeck, WA.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2338, 4001 Jackson Avenue, Port Orchard, WA. At 1:00pm, April 11th, 2015 where the family will be greeting friends and relatives.
