Donald Schell was born in Hettinger ND on Dec.21,1933 to Valentine and Mabel Schell. He passed away July 28,2016 at the age of 82.
As a young man he joined the North Dakota National Guard until July 31,1952 where he then on Jan 16,1952 continued his career in the Army. His military travels would take him to places such as Korea, Germany, Vietnam, from the North to the South, East and West of the United States. He retired from nursing at Fort Sam Houston Texas on May30,1972 after 22 years of service with many Medals and achievements.
While being stationed in Germany he met and married his beloved Olga Lengsfeld? They were married 38 years until her passing on July 09,1994.
Don loved fishing, tinkering on engines, being on the lake and boating with son Andy,and visiting family members in his motor home during the summer months. He would travel from Arizona to Washington, Montana, then on to Minneapolis.
He is preceded in death by his wife Olga, and step son Frank Lengsfeld. He is survived by 6 children. Linda Lindsley, Andrew, Donald Jr., Teatatjana, Sandra (Robert) Richards, Bruce (Carol). 8 grand children Amber (Matt) Olsen, Gerald Winge, Zachary, Petra, Eden, Devon, Dominic, and Dajha. 5 great grand children. Kayli, Talon, Emily, Paige, Steven and Mila.
Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His favorite saying was " If the Good Lords Willing and The Creeks Don't Rise". Dads constant smile and endless hugs will truly be missed.
Services will be at the Tahoma National Cemetery.
