Donald John Weisberg

January 29, 1944 — May 22, 2019

Don Weisberg was born in Duluth Minnesota on January 29th, 1944 and spent his childhood in Seattle. On Wednesday, May 22nd, 2019 after a long battle with Parkinson’s, he peacefully left the ones who loved him.

Don joined the Air Force after high school and proudly served 4 years in Okinawa as a dental assistant. Shortly after Don completed his service, he met his wife BJ. They were married in 1969.

Don was an exceptionally talented salesman with Frito Lay. After dedicating 26 years, he retired in 2006 and moved permanently to Belfair, WA. Retirement happily brought him fun times golfing, spending time on Hood Canal, traveling (road trips to Minnesota and Arizona; cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean), and tinkering around the house and on his truck.

Prior to retirement, he spent weekends/holidays in Belfair having campfires and smores, waterskiing and spending hours on the boat, wading in Hood Canal to find dinner (crabs/shrimp), watching baseball (Mariners and the Tacoma Rainiers), football (Seahawks of course), basketball (before the Sonics left Seattle). Don consistently and proudly bragged about his children and his grandkids and loved spending time being funny and making memories with them.

Don will be remembered for enjoying maple bars/donuts, Snickers, anything sweet, Coors, classic cars, and old comedies/parodies. Don was the definition of consideration and kindness. He'd stop to fix a stranger's flat tire, and if he found a quarter on the ground, he would try to find who it belonged to. He was always joking and laughing about something. He was an amazing and loving husband, father, Papa and friend that will truly be missed.

Don is preceded in death by mother Betty Weisberg, father Jack Weisberg, sisters Debbie and Beverly, dog Thunder. He is survived by his wife of 49 years BJ Weisberg, daughter Rachael Kimbrel (Keith husband, daughter Katie, son Adam), son Jeremy Weisberg (Kathy wife, son Spencer), dog Chester, sisters Pat and Bonnie, brothers Jim and Billy and multiple nieces and nephews.

Don’s family would like to graciously thank the staff at Bay Pointe and Marine Courte for their kind and loving care during his last few months.

A celebration of Don's life will be held on Saturday, July 6th from 11am - 5pm at the church he attended, Christ Lutheran, 3701 NE North Shore Road, Belfair, WA 98528 (lodge, south of the church). Please bring fun stories and memories of Don to share. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Parkinson’s research via https://www.michaeljfox.org/
