Donald T. Winter, 85, a resident of Port Orchard, died in Seattle of heart failure on July 22, 2011. He was born April 9, 1926 in Poulsbo to Paul and Margit (Bergliot Brinchmann) Winter. He graduated from North Kitsap HS in 1944 and attended University of WA. He married Maxine (Kamholtz) Winter on May 3, 1952 at 1st Christian Church in Port Orchard. Donald served in the US Navy from 1944 – 1946. He worked at PSNS as a mechanical Engineer until he retired in 1981 and served as treasurer for Port Orchard Friends of the Library. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Maxine; sons William Winter (Miriam Uhlig) of Seattle, Dale Winter (Deb) of Maple Valley; brothers Boyd Winter of Aberdeen and Einar Winter (Alice) of Kissimmee, FL and 2 grandchildren Kirsten and Kayla Winter; numerous nieces , nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother Arnold Winter. Graveside Service will be 3:00 pm, Friday, July 29, 2011 at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
