Donell Sessions Thormahlen was born October 14th, 1942 to Don and Lois Sessions in Salt Lake City, Utah. Donell was the second eldest of five siblings. She spent her first 17 years growing up on farmlands in Utah, California and Montana before her parents settled in the small town of Syracuse, Utah. Donell graduated from Davis High School in 1961.
In 1964, she met the love of her life and married Jerry Thormahlen. Together they had three daughters, Debora, Shannon, and Tracy. At the age of one, they lost their beautiful daughter Tracy. Soon after Jerry and Donell packed up the family and moved to Boise, Idaho, where they raised their two daughters. Donell was a devoted companion to Jerry’s avid fishing and outdoor adventures.
Jerry and Donell then moved to Seattle in 1987. Donell was blessed with four wonderful grandkids: Garrett, Tracy, Jerry, and Ashley. They stole her heart, and she could not have been prouder of each of them and their accomplishments. You would always find her where the grandkids were, watching endless basketball, football, soccer, softball, and tennis whenever her grandkids were involved. She was the glue to the family and always came up with adventures to include the whole family. After retirement they moved to Belfair in 2006.
Donell is survived by her brother Rodney Sessions and her children, daughters Debora (Glenn) Landram and Shannon Budd, grandchildren Garrett Landram, Tracy (Zach) Neithamer, Jerry Patrick Landram and Ashley Budd, and great grandchild Jackson Neithamer. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Thormahlen, her parents Don and Lois Sessions, her brother Brent Sessions, her sisters Darlene Sessions Parry and Marjory Sessions Grover and her daughter Tracy Thormahlen.
