Donna Whitford Walker passed away in her sleep Friday March 26, 2021. She was 61 years old.
Donna was born to Leona Rose and Eugene Lyle Whitford in Salina, Kansas August 21, 1959. Although Donna moved around a lot in her childhood due to her father being in the United States Airforce, Donna ultimately made Port Orchard, WA her home. Donna had siblings Michael, Denise, Brandy, Kasey, Valerie, and Caleb. Donna is survived by her three children, Ivory Stephen Cranshaw III, Hannah Michelle Garner, and Brittany Denise Garner. Donna also had five grandchildren, Ivory Cranshaw IV, Daddy Cranshaw, Aaliyah Francis, Leonardo Barone, and Bella Barone.
Donna had many talents, hobbies, and accomplishments. From a young age Donna danced competitively at pow wows and her native name was Dancing Star. Donna was particularly proud to have her last owl dance with Russell Means, Spokane 1974. While many knew Donna for her dancing, others knew her for her writing and artistic talents. Donna had written a song that was published, called “Not Now, Not Ever”. She also wrote short stories. Many of the people that knew Donna, knew her for her healing touch. Donna had many friendships that came from her time as a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2006. Towards the end of her life, Donna joined Grand Master YI Brothers Tae Kwon Do in Port Orchard, WA. Donna loved the joy and strength she found in martial arts and was so proud to have made it to the orange belt before her departure.
When Donna was not working, doing martial arts, or spending the day with her family, she could be found walking her dog Sochi along the Port Orchard waterfront. She loved Sochi very much for the 7 years they had together.
