Dorothea Rutherford

Dorthea E. Rutherford, 79, died at her home in Port Orchard, Washington on January 2, 2000.  She was born January 31, 1920 in Dallas, Texas to William Gilchrist & Editha Mae (Hamilton) Campbell.  She was raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, home schooled in El Paso, Texas and graduated from Harden-Simmons University also in Texas.  Dorthea married Francis Rutherford on March 15, 1947 in Oklahoma City.Mrs. Rutherford is a retired Teacher/Educator who taught in schools in the United States, Guam & Japan.  She served in the U. S. Navy from November 1942 to January 1947 as a Lieutenant in the Supply Corps.  Dorthea enjoyed bridge, golf, outdoors, travel and was the Kitsap Golf and Country Club Champion in 1967.
