Dorothy Carroll

Dorothy Carroll, Age: 78, died at Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale, Washington on December 19, 2001.Dorothy was born on February 19, 1923, in Seattle, Washington, to Francis and Rose(Duffy)Behrle. She attended South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington, graduating in 1940. Dorothy then attended UCLA in Los Angeles, California, graduating in 1942. In 1944, Dorothy married Matthew Okoniewski(they later divorced).She attended the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington, graduating in 1974; and Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington in 1976; and Seattle University in 1980. She was a Family Therapist and Chemical Dependency Specialist, retiring in 1996.Dorothy is survived by sons, Michael Okoniewski of Philomath, Oregon; Steven Okoniewski of Green Bay, Wisconsin; brothers, Ernest Behrle of Seabeck, Washington; Walter Behrle of Tallahassee, Florida; sister, Frances Frederick of Silverdale, Washington; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her ex-husband, Matthew, died in 1996.A memorial service in her honor is scheduled for Thursday, December 27, 2001 at 11:30 A.M., at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. Inurnment will follow the service at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. Reverend Larry Mead will officiate.Memorial donations may be made to a donation of your choice.Arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory.
