Dorothy Schardt

Dorothy Schardt, 84, of Port Orchard, WA, died February 21, 2003, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, WA.Dorothy was born March 21, 1918, in Bismarck, ND, to Carl and Emma (Scott) Tolliver. She was educated in North Dakota and married Frederick Schardt in 1938 in Bremerton, WA. He preceded her in death in 1983.Dorothy volunteered in the Olalla Ladies Fire Department. She belonged to the Long Lake and Olalla Homemakers Club, and the Olalla and Belfair Grange. Dorothy loved to sew, knit, and crochet. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.Survivors include a son Leroy Schardt, of Olympia, WA; a daughter Fay George, of Port Orchard, WA; 2 sisters, Emma Armstrong and Charlotte Sjoline, both of Kent, WA; 9 grandchildren, Dan George, John George, Jr, Patricia Anderson, Kathy Grice, Thomas Schardt, Michelle Schardt, Brian Schardt, Lisa Schardt, and Edward Schardt; 18 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by 1 sister and 5 brothers.Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard, WA.
