Dorothy "Do" Strittmatter, 75, of Port Orchard, Washington, died of breast cancer on January 21, 2002.Dorothy was born on March 21, 1926, in Evanston, Illinois to Gustav A. Neumann and Hazel (Langfeld) Newmann. She graduated from Niles Center High School in Skokie, Illinois in 1944.Dorothy spent her life as a housewife, and a Bookkeeper for Stutz Fuel Oil in Gig Harbor, Washington. She spent ten years with Stutz, retiring in 1976.Dorothy enjoyed reading and watching sports of any kind. She was a member of the Lutheran faith.Dorothy is survived by her son, Richard Strittmatter of Purdy, Washington; step-son, Stephen Strittmatter and his wife, Linda; sister, Helen Leffler of Grays Lake, Illinois; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Irene McCabe.A gathering of family and friends is being held Saturday, April 13, 2002, 2:00PM, at Lakebay Cemetery in Home, Washington.
