Douglas M. Harvey, 53, a Tacoma resident, died Tuesday morning at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Doug was born in Bremerton, Washington, September 12, 1950 to Douglas M. and Doris (Munsee) Harvey, Sr. He attended West Bremerton High School, graduating in 1968, Olympic College in Bremerton for two years then transferred to Western Washington University in Bellingham for one year. He owned and operated McKay Coinstructin for ten years and also worked for Kitsap Ready Mix for 17 yars. Doug married Kay Schamber on March 29, 1986 in Freeman, South Dakota. He loved animals, was an avid reader and enjoyed going on Ocean Cruises, fishing and water skiiing. He is survived by his wife Kay Harvey of Tacoma, parents Douglas M. and Doris Harvey, Sr. of Bremerton, brother Jim Harvey (& wife, Lucille) of Port Orchard, sister Patty Stiles (& husband, Tim) of Bremerton and four nephews, Jared, Jeremy and Joel Harvey and Scott Stiles. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held for him on Saturday, April 17th at 3:00 pm at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington.
