Dwight Blaisdell

Dwight G. Blaisdell, 82, died at his home in Port Orchard, Washington February 27, 1999.  He was born in Franklin, Maine April 21, 1916 to Truman & Bessie (Hinton) Blaisdell.  He was raised in various areas of Washington as his father was a minister and traveled statewide.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in Seattle, Washington and married Shirley J. Holmes February 16, 1951 in Bremerton, Washington.  Mr. Blaisdell worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Shipfitter retiring in 1982.  He was a charter member of Bremerton Community Theatre; Santa Clara Chorale; NARFE; member of Peroni Opera Guild performing many operas as a tenor; and belonged to The Methodist Church.Surviving are his wife; son Michael Blaisdell of Pacific, WA and James Blaisdell of Gig Harbor, WA; daughters Marcia Acoba of Port Orchard, WA and Laurel Check of North Bend, WA; brother Hinton Blaisdell of Spokane, WA; sisters Waranna Blum of Acampo, CA and Margaret Bryant of Seattle, WA; and 8 grandchildren.Memorial Service Sunday, March 7, 1999 at 2:00 PM at Port Orchard Methodist Church, 725 Kitsap Street.
