Earlean Burnem, 85, of Port Orchard, WA, died January 8, 2006, at Olympia Manor in Olympia, WA. She was born September 17, 1920, in Hamburg, Arkansas, to Zach and Ivory (Miller) Burnem. Earlean owned a restaurant earlier in her life called "The Dew Drop Inn" in Bremerton, WA. She also worked as a chef/cook with a hotel chain in Seattle, WA, and briefly worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton as a laborer. Most importantly, she was a homemaker that helped raise and care for many family members and friends. Earlean enjoyed cooking, crocheting, fishing, playing the guitar, and listening to music. Nobody was a stranger to her and she always had open arms to anyone in need. Survivors include four sons, Leo LeBlanc (Patricia), of Las Vegas, NV, Harry Fleming Jr, of Lakewood, WA, James Fleming, of Aberdeen, WA, and Robert Sawyer (Dianne), of Port Orchard, WA; three daughters, Eula Richardson (George), of Olympia, WA, Darlean Ford (Tony), of Seattle, WA, and Tina Jacobs (Randy), of Columbia, SC; one sister, Mattie Bee Carter, of Oakland, CA; 23 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Earlean was preceded in death by her life long companion of 41 years Emmitt Taylor, and two sons Jerry Sawyer and LeRoy Fleming. Viewing will be Wednesday, January 11, 2006, Noon to 5:00PM and Thursday, January 12, 2006, 9:00AM to 1:00PM at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, WA. A service will be held on Thursday at 1:00PM at the Tribute Center. Interment will follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park also in Port Orchard.
