Eddie Cartmill

Eddie Cartmill, Jr. of Port Orchard, Washington died of complication of emphysema July 13, 2003 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was 70.He was born December 31, 1932 in Kirksville, Missouri to Edgar and Helen (Wallen) Cartmill.Eddie Cartmill grew up in Wyoming and attended schools at Wamsutter, Sunbeam and Baggs.He married Patricia (Graf) Cartmill July 27, 2000 in Port Orchard, Washington.Eddie served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956.He worked 33 years at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard - retiring in 1988.Eddie was a life member of Masonic Port Orchard Lodge #98; Scottish Rite of Port Orchard 33 Degree; Niles Temple - Kitsap County Shriners Club of Bremerton 32 Degree; Olalla Grange of Washington. Eddie and Joann were concessioneers in Washington and Oregon.Eddie was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Port Orchard, Washington. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Graf) Cartmill of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; Son - Edward Cartmill (& wife, Cathy) of La Conner, Washington, Randall Cartmill and companion Marcia of Port Orchard, Washington, daughter - Jessica Nichols and companion Mike of Twisp, Washington, 3 step-daughters: Kitty Fazzini (& husband, Kevin) of New York, Janette Chamberlin (& husband, Jay) of Iowa, Kathy smith (& companion, Ted) of Port Orchard, Washington; brothers - William Cartmill (& wife, Deanna) of Cottage Grove, Oregon, Harold Cartmill (& wife, Carol) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Darrell Cartmill (& wife, Jackie) of El Dorado Hills, California; Sister - Janet Mudd (& husband, Jim) of Buffalo Gap, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Joann Cartmill, a son Ricky Cartmill, a brother Alford Cartmill, a sister Helen Freeman and a step-son Randy Smith.A service will be held at the First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard, Washington on Friday, July 18, 2003 at 1:00 p.m.Inurnment will follow at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.Memorial Donations may be made to:Shriner's HospitalSend to Bremerton Club
