Edgar Robert Thompson

Edgar Robert 'Bob' Thompson, 63, of Port Orchard died at home on January 13, 1999.  He was born in Youngstown, OH on January 18, 1935 to Edgar R. & Eleanor L. (Sheehan) Thompson. Bob graduated from East High School in Youngstown in 1953 and joined the U. S. Army serving from 1953 to 1977.  He retired as a MSG/E8 earning many awards and service medals.  He worked on Mark 48 Research and Development at Keyport, retiring in 1993.  He enjoyed Golf & traveling, his Grandchildren and flower garden.  He was Past Commander of DAV #5 Bremerton and member of fraternal organizations including Masons and Elks; Good Sam Club; NW SMART; and MARBLES.Survived by his wife; sons Robert C., Michael S., & Jeffrey A., all of Port Orchard; daughter Cheryl A. Severson of Port Orchard; brothers Raymond W. & James L. of Austintown, OH; and 5 Grandchildren.  Memorial Service Saturday, January 23, 1999 at 1:00 PM Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.
