Edith Broaddus

Edith Broaddus, 92, of Port Orchard, WA, died October 8, 2001, at her home in Port Orchard.Edith was born November 3, 1908, in Peoria, IL, to Roland and Josephine (Schwinn) Sheets. She graduated from high school in Peoria.On July 20, 1935, Edith married Ray J. Broaddus in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 1993.Edith was a homemaker and also worked with her husband in the jewelry business in Michigan and Florida until 1981. She enjoyed baking and cooking. Edith was a member of the Assemblies of God and attended South Park Assembly and Christian Life Center, both in Port Orchard.She is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Jean Watkins, of Port Orchard, and Joan Edith Garcia, of Port Orchard; brothers Louie and Bill Sheets, both of Peoria; sister, Mary Leonard, of Lincoln Park, MI; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.Services will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2001, 12:00 Noon, at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard with burial following at Sunset Lane Cemetery.
