Edith Louvain Harty, 97 of Harper died December 14, 2012. She was born October 21, 1915 in Fernie. B.C., Canada to William and Amy (Biggs) Todhunter. On June 3, 1934 she married F. Harold Harty in Seattle, Washington. In 1941 they moved to Harper.
She was an avid homemaker. She loved their Saturday night dance dates, boating, playing the organ, singing and many crafts. For many years she participated in the Port Orchard Yacht Club Commodears, Port Orchard Machine Knitting Club and Children’s Orthopedic Allen-Miller Guild.
Her husband, Harold and her son, M. Wade Harty preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Richard (Donna) Harty and her eight grandchildren: David (Vicki) Harty, Laurie Harty, Michael (Debbie) Harty, Thomas Harty, Rick (Monica) Harty, Ron (Susan) Harty, Jeri (Tom) Hardy and Jan (Steve) Ehlert. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Service Friday, December 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to the Children’s Orthopedic Allen-Miller Guild.
