Mrs. Edith S. Hoem, Age: 81, died on November 9, 2001 at the Port Orchard Care Center in Port Orchard, Washington.She had been born on May 17, 1920, in Olalla, Washington to Victor and Anna Anderson. She attended South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, graduating in 1938.On October 18, 1946, Edith married John Hoem in Port Orchard. She served as Deputy Treasurer for Kitsap County for twenty years, retiring in 1980. She also was a Homemaker.Edith enjoyed bowling, and was an active member of Sons of Norway.Edith is survived by her husband, John, of the family home; sons, Edwin J., Donald W., and Thomas W. Hoem of Port Orchard, Victor C. Hoem of Moab, Utah, and Walter E. Hoem of Bremerton, Washington; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.A memorial service in her honor will be held on Thursday, November 15th, 2001 at 2:00 p.m., at Rill Chapel. The Reverend Larry Mead will preside. A reception will follow the service at Rill Chapel.Memorials may be made to ''Sons of Norway'' c/o Scholarship Fund, 1018 18th, Bremerton, Washington, 98337-1626, or to Hospice of Kitsap County, Post Office Box 3416, Silverdale, Washingon, 98383.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home and Crematory.
