Edward Lee Jones, 74 a resident of Port Orchard died in Tacoma of natural causes on May 27, 2012. He was born November 4, 1937 to Thomas and Edna Bell (Peters) Jones in Simpson, WV. He graduated from Flemington HS in 1954 and married Janet M. Stewart on September 9, 1958 in Flemington, WV. Ed served in the US Army from 1955 -1963 as a Specialist 3 and was awarded Good Conduct and Expert Rifle Medal and Motor Vehicle Qualification Badge. He later worked as an electrician first at Monoghelia Power Co. in Weirton, WV and then at WA Veteran’s Home and as Energy Advisor for Camp Murray in Pierce County for State Department of Military. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing in the Olympics. He is survived by his wife Janet M. Jones of Port Orchard; daughters Brenda L. Stratton of Belfair, and Carla J. Peirce (Robert) of FL; brother Cyrus Jones (Holly Hall) of Port Orchard; sisters Bessie, Linda and Cathy of WV; 5 grandchildren Robert and Charles Peirce, Melissa Shaw, Kelsey Becar and Sheena Stratton; 5 great-grandchildren Jacob and Aylah Blake, Byron and William Puckett and Robert (Joey) Peirce. He was preceded in death by Bill, Howard and Jimmy; sister Jean Umble and great-granddaughter Aylah Cheri Blake. There will be a private memorial at the home of Kelsey and Tony Becar.
