Edward Wesley Young, Jr., Eddie to his friends and loved ones, was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in Port Orchard, Washington. He attended Burley Glenwood Elementary, Cedar Heights Jr. High, and South Kitsap High School. Eddie was the Maintenance Coordinator for Paramount Property Management.
Eddie always had a wild and restless spirit. As a child, his wild spirit often led him to be the first one to break the rules our parents would set. For example, as children, we frequently visited Ocean Shores, Washington as a family and our parents would let us get into the water with only one rule, "don't get your clothes wet." Between the three siblings, Eddie would always be the first one to break that rule. He would stand in foot deep water and watch his feet as the tide came in and out over his feet. He would stand in ankle deep water and watch as the tide came in and out over his feet. He would be mesmerized by the tide and lose his balance and fall into the water, every time.
Eddie carried his wild spirit into adulthood. He delighted in spending his free time as an amateur geologist (rockhound). He would take time out of his busy work week to search for precious stones in the wild as well as pan for gold at his favorite mine. Eddie's love for the water never ebbed in adulthood. He loved living close to the water as he would frequently fish, crab, and squid jig. The only thing that brought him more joy than fishing, crabbing, and squid jigging was doing those things with his family and friends.
Eddie's favorite place was anywhere his family, friends, and loved ones were located. He loved "his people." He spent as much of his free time as he could socializing with "his people" and just being with them in any manner he could.
He is preceded in passing by his Mother Josephine (Jo) Young (2020) and Sister Melisa Young Matheson (2016). Eddie is survived by his Father Jeffery Bjornstad, Brother Thomas Young, Son Taj Young, and dog Artie (Rottweiler)
Edward's memorial will be held, Saturday, August 14th at 1pm. It will be held at Rill's Life Tribute Center at 1151 Mitchell Ave., Port Orchard, WA
Edward was a warm hearted and loving man. While his wild spirit got him in trouble during his younger years, he grew up to be an amazing human being who would give you the shirt off of his back without the need for thanks. He was loved by all who knew him.
