Edythe J. Sandberg, Age: 86, resident of Bremerton, Washington, died on January 31, 2002 at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.Edythe was born on April 11, 1915 in Minot, North Dakota to John and Emma(Berg) Hojem. She married Barney Wiggins, who preceded her in death. She remarried to Orvo Sandberg, who also preceded her in death.Edythe was a Homemaker most of her life, and was a member of Sons of Norway.She is survived by her companion, Art Aksdal; daughter, Patricia L. Plumb of Bremerton; a son, Daniel Bruce Wiggins of Bremerton; brother, Hilmer Taxdahl of Ferndale, Washington; sister, Ruth Langlois of Des Moines, Washington; sister, Alice Lambert of Bremerton; four grandchildren-Kim Bushnell, Randy Plumb, Julie Norseth and Amy Norseth; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Ray and Palmer Hojem.A memorial service will be held at Rill Chapel on Tuesday, February 5, 2002, at 1:00 p.m.. Dr. Gary Tangeman will officiate. The eulogy will be delivered by Denny Plumb. A reception will follow the service, at Rill Chapel. Interment will be held privately at Forest Lawn Cemetery.Arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home in Port Orchard.
