Eleanor Lyden

November 7, 1935 — April 20, 2005

Ellie was born and raised in Odessa, Nebraska. In 1957 she moved to Tacoma, where she married Carl Lyden. Their son Chris was born in 1964. Ellie lived life to the fullest and was always on the go. She loved the ocean, Hood Canal, and Alaska, where she enjoyed fishing, clam digging and shrimp fishing. Garage sales and reupholstering furniture were favorite hobbies. Ellie was a friend to all and dearly loved her work in the Foss high school counseling department. Her selflessness, compassion, and willingness to help anywhere and everywhere were unrivaled. She touched the heart of all who knew her. She is survived by her husband of 47 years Carl and son Chris (Ingrid). Funeral services will be 2pm on Tuesday, April 26th at Rill's Life Tribute Center, 1151 Mitchell Ave., Port Orchard, Wa 98366 with a reception to follow at the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a scholarship fund established in Ellie's memory at Foss HS. Please send remembrances to "The Lyden Scholarship Trust Fund", Henry Foss HS, 2112 S. Taylor, Tacoma, Wa 98405, Atten: Elaine Matz.
