Ellen Johnston

Ellen T. Johnston, 90, of Port Orchard, died at Cottesmore of Life Care in Gig Harbor February 26, 1999.  She was born January 31, 1909 in Port Orchard, Washington to Percy & Lalie (Scott) Tucker.  She graduated from Graton High School in Graton, California and married James E. Johnston February 1931 in Los Angeles, California.  He preceded her in death in 1955.  Ellen worked as Secretary for the Superintendent of Kitsap Schools until her retirement.  She was a member of Port Orchard Church of Christ.Survivors include daughter Janice Townsend of Minneapolis, Minesota; brother Richard Tucker of Gig Harbor, Washington; sisters Alice Bowman of Bremerton, Washington and Lois Prather of Port Orchard, Washington; grandsons Glen Townsend of Minneapolis, Minesota and Bret Townsend of Belfair, Washington; and 2 great-grandchildren. Memorial Service at Port Orchard Church of Christ at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 3, 1999 followed by Interment at Sunset Lane Cemetery, Port Orchard at 1:00 PM.
