Elmer M. Kuehl of Bremerton, Washington died of Respiratory Failure December 6, 2004 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was 77. He was born July 28, 1927 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to August and Anna (Paulson) Kuehl. Elmer graduated from Albert Lea High School in Albert Lea, Minnesota in 1945; and, graduated from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1953. Elmer married Alice (Sturtz) Kuehl September 6, 1952 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. He serviced in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1948 as a Radar Technician. He also worked as an Electrical Engineer for the Reserve Mining Company in Silver Bay, Minnesota for 12 years. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for Miami Copper Company in Miami, Arizona for 3 years; and, worked as an Electrical Engineer ofr the Los Alamos Natinal Laboratory in Los Alamos, New Mexico for 12 years - retiring in 1985. Elmer enjoyed hunting and fishing, computers, reading, model building, puzzles, cross stitch and needle work. He was a member of the Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church in Silverdale, Washington. Elmer is survived by spouse - Alice (Sturtz) Kuehl of the Bremerton, Washington family home; sons - Jeffrey Kuehl (& wife, Susan) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Steve Kuehl (& wife, Peggy) of Seabeck, Washington; daughter - Barbara Garner (& husband, Greg) of Aiea, Hawaii; brother - Robert Kuehl of Albert Lea, Minnesota; 7 grandchildren (Amy Kuehl, Dana Kuehl, John Garner, Jason Garner, Lindsay Kuehl, Jordan Kuehl and Sheree Kuehl). He was preceded in death by brother - Russell Kuehl. A viewing will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center on December 9, 2004 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington on December 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. He graduated from Albert Lea High School in Albert Lea, Minnesota in 1945; and, attained a Bachelor of Science degree on Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1953.
