Elnora Buen

October 30, 1931 — February 11, 2010

Elnora N. Buen, 78 of Port Orchard, died at Harrison Memorial Hospital on February 11, 2010. She was born October 30, 1931 in Bacnotan, La Union, Philippines to Benito & Rosario (Oropilla) Nebriaga, the youngest of 4 children. She graduated from the North Provincial HS in 1949 and became a Teacher in 1953. She served in the Bureau of Public Schools from 1953 to 1973 as an elementary school Teacher and later became a principal for another 11 years until her retirement after 31 years in public education.   Elnora came to the United States in 1984 and married Felicisimo Buen of Port Orchard. She enjoyed her retirement years with her husband, tending to their berry farm in Port Orchard where they resided. Although she had no children, she was surrounded by loving nieces & nephews who considered her as a mother and grandmother to their children. She was happiest when with her grandchildren whom she showered with her love and care, bringing them to & from school whenever she was needed.   Elnora was a very religious person and practiced her faith to the very end of her life. She had a quiet, reserved and unassuming personality, but when she talked, she knew the whys and wherfores of what she was talking about and always with that grain of salt behind her experiences. She will be missed by the people she loved most in life, especially her grandchildren.   Visitation will be at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard on Friday, February 19th from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard with burial following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park. Online memorial at www.rill.com
