Eloise Broughton

Eloise Hewitt Broughton, 78 of Silverdale, died at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood on July 10, 1999.  She was born on March 8, 1921 to James Glen & Esmaralda M. (Mc Cullough) Hewitt in Atlantic, Iowa.  Eloise married William K. Broughton in Port Orchard, Washington on March 29, 1946.  He preceded her in death in 1996.Mrs. Broughton worked for the Department of Agriculture, the Kitsap County Sherrif as the first female Deputy Sherrif in the County, and she also served in the U. S. Navy.  She was an avid cross stitcher & golfer.Surviving are sons William Broughton of Belfair and James Broughton of Grapeview and 4 grandchildren.Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard.  Private family graveside service is planned.  Memorials may be made to Belfair Fire Department or Silverdale District 1, Fire Department.
