Ernest P. Everts of West Port, Washington died of natural causes February 9, 2004 at the V.A. Hospital in Seattle, Washington. He was 83. He was born September 30, 1920 in Mountain Grove, Missouri to Nellie Grey (Moore) Everts and Percey Everts. He served in the Army as Private 1st Class for 4 years. Ernest worked as a farmer in agriculture in Yakima Valley, Washington; and, as a logger in California and Washington. He was a life-time member of the Loyal Order of Moose, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Ernest is survived by daughters - Nellie Parmely of Bremerton, Washington, Sherry Chavez of Zillah, Washington, Laurie of Grandview, Washington; brothers - Ivard Everts of the Dalles, Oregon, Ray of Orlando, West Virginia; sisters - Oleta Harris of Toppenish, Washington, Colesta Brown of Eastern Washington; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A private family gathering will be held in Wapato, Washington at the American Legion Hall. Memorial donations may be made to: Mooseheart Child City & School Mooseheart, IL 60539
