Ervin "Sonny" L. Clark died November 1, 2002 at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington. He was 66.He was born December 10, 1935 to Ervin and Alvina (Shaffer) Clark in Missoula, Montana.He graduated from Bremerton High School of Bremerton, Washington in 1953.Sonny married Madeline "Midge" (Mogg) Clark June 15, 1957 in Nome, Alaska.He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1975. He served in Alaska Communications Special Branch (1955-1960), assisting in the development of Norad. He saw active duty throughout Alaska, Europe, Korea, Vietnam, and was a decorated member of USASTRATCOM responsible for strategic military communications throughout the Pacific and Europe. He retired from the Army in 1975. He continued working for the Air Force in a civilian capacity at Clear Air Force Base in Alaska and held that positin 15 years, until poor health necessitated retirement in 1990.He is survived by his wife Madeline "Midge" Clark of Bremerton, Washington; sons - Ervin "Boo" L. Clark and Gerhard Clark; daughters Theresa Carrahar, Jean Marie Anderson and Mary Ann Teegardin; 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Bernadette Freeman.A memorial service will be held at Rill Chapel of Port Orchard, Washington on Thursday, November 7, 2002 at 3:;00 p.m.Inurnment will be held at Tahoma National Cemetery of Kent, Washington.
