Esther Holmes

Esther A. Holmes, 83, died in Bremerton, Washington on September 29, 2000. She was born on April 18, 1917 in Ironton, Minnesota to John & Flossie (Cuff) Robins. Esther married Beecher Holmes on June 29, 1967 in Tacoma, Washington. He preceded her in death in 1968.Mrs. Holmes was a Homemaker. She worked as a volunteer at Group Health and enjoyed making quilts and donating them to the homeless.Surviving are sons Dale Smith of Enumclaw, Washington and Gail Allen Smith of Shelton, Washington; daughters Yvonne McKinney of Moclips, Gladys Ann McCoy of Bremerton, and Vera Rapoza of Tacoma; brother Albert Robins of Sheton; sister June Lewin of Kansas City, Missouri; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sisters Julie, Elma, Eva, Norma & Martha and brothers Larry & Lanie.Visitation will be at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard on Tuesday & Wednesday, October 3rd and 4th, from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Funeral Service will be at Rill Chapel on Thursday, October 5, 2000 at 2:30pm. Interment will follow at 2:30pm at Washington Memorial Park in Seattle.
