Esther Jessup

Esther Hilfreda Jessup, Age: 93, resident of Port Orchard, Washington, died on December 26, 2001, of natural causes.Esther was born on July 4, 1908 in Tracyton, Washington, to Olaf Haagaford Peterson and Hilda Maria(Hansen)Peterson. She attended and graduated from Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale, Washington in 1926. She then attended Pearce Business College, in Bremerton, Washington, graduating in 1928.Esther dedicated her life to being an excellent wife and mother. She was also a telephone switchboard operator in Silverdale for three years.Esther was a life member of Pythian Sisters abd Ann Wilson Children's Orthopedic Guild. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.Esther is survived by her sons, Ronald James Adkins of Port Orchard; Gary Dennis Adkins of Poulsbo, Washington; daughter, Lorraine Maria Harmon of York, Maine; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Aegil and Harold Peterson.A funeral service will be held in her honor at First Lutheran Church of Port Orchard on Friday, January 4, 2002, at 1:00 p.m..Viewing is scheduled for Friday, January 4, 2002, from 12:00-1:00 p.m., at First Lutheran Church. Pastor Alan Cudahy will be officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard. A reception will follow the funeral service at First Lutheran Church.The family has asked that memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home in Port Orchard.
