Ethel Taunt

Ethel V. Taunt, 98, died at Washington Veterans Home, Retsil, Washington where she had resided since 1986. She was born in Tacoma, Washington on June 12, 1907 to John G. & Kristina (Hammer) Smith. She graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in Shelton, Washington. Ethel married Lawrence Taunt on October 29, 1943 in Tacoma. He preceded her in death in 1985. Ethel was a homemaker and pursued her hobby as an artist. She belonged to the Bremerton Art Guild and was a member of the Bremerton Unity Church. Surviving are her stepdaughter Lucille Kimble of Port Orchard; her sister Violet Mayer of Port Orchard; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil. Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard.
