Eugene R. Luz, 69, of Port Orchard, Washington, died September 7, 2001, at his home after a long battle with Alzheimers.Eugene was born July 24, 1932, in Hayward, California, to Manuel and Nellie (Joseph) Luz. He attended Hayward High School and received his GED from the United States Airforce, where he served as a Tech Sergeant from 1950 to 1954.On April 10, 1954, Eugene married Arline Beidle in Crescent City, California.Eugene was a general contractor for over 36 years and owned Luz' Construction retiring in 1998. He enjoyed hunting, horses, and cattle.Survivors include his wife Arline, of Port Orchard, WA; sons, Mark Luz and Douglas Luz, both of Port Orchard; daughters, Victoria Luz, Deanne Kupietz, and Stacy Sutton, all of Port Orchard; brothers, Manuel Luz, of Yountville, CA, and Henry Luz, of San Francisco, CA; sisters,Audrey Collier, of Rocklin, CA, Lorraine Mueller, of Walnut Creek, CA, Aldiene Bailey, of Castro Valley, CA, and Patricia Spitzel, of Fremont, CA; and 7 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 2 brothers.Services will be held 3:00PM, Friday, September 14, 2001, at Rill Chapel. A reception will follow in the Rill Chapel Hospitality Room.
