Eunice Knapp

Eunice Knapp of Port Orchard, Washington died in Seattle on October 22, 2006. She was 68. She was born March 16, 1938 in Donnybrook, North Dakota to Waldon and Irene (Thompson) Smith. Eunice married Robert L. Sauer in May of 1954 in Port Orchard, Washington (he died 1966); and, later married Rolf Knapp in Port Orchard in April 1971. Eunice was a homemaker. She enjoyed collecting various items - bells, dolls and rooting for the Mariners (her favorite of which was Edgar Martinez). She volunteered at the Retsil Veterans Home for many years. Most of all, She was devoted to her family. Eunice is survived by sons - Robert (Angela) Sauer and Brian (Michele) Sauer - of Port Orchard, WA.; daughter - Cheri (Gary) Bontrager of Stanwood, WA; brothers - Waldon "Smitty" Smith, Irvin Blowers, Leonard Blowers, Dewayne Blowers - all of Port Orchard; sisters - Vera Brown and LaVerne Bond of Waco, TX.; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren A memorial service will be held Friday, October 27, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Rill's Life Tribute Center.
