Evangeline (Toodie) was born in Minnesota and came to Washington at an early age. She lived in the Tacoma area until December 14, 1941, when she married James H. Thompson and moved to Auburn, Washington. Toodie graduated from Lincoln High School and Beutei Business College in Tacoma. During World War II she worked in Seattle for the Army Corp of Engineers processing work orders for the building of the Alcan Highway.
After raising a family for 18 years she went back to work as a legal secretary and bookkeeper for 13 years. In 1974 she and her husband moved to the Shelton, Washington area. For a short period of time she worked in Olympia for the Department of Employment Security.
Toodie and her husband enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Patrick O’Brien of Port Orchard, WA; a son, Jim Thompson of Seattle; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including a great-great-great nephew and niece.
