Evelyn Sherk

Evelyn Sherk died May 11, 2003 at the Port Orchard Care Center in Port Orchard, Washington. She was 82.She was born July 6, 1920 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania to John and Della (Heller) Gerlach.Evelyn graduated from Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Pennsylvania in 1937.She was a teacher's aide, cook, secretary and tutor with South Kitsap School District.Evelyn was a member of the Orthopedic Guild and a professional business woman. She enjoyed helping her friends after retirement.She was a member of the Port Orchard United Methodist Church.Evelyn is survived by her son - Joe Sherk of Port Orchard, Washington (former sports editor of the Sun); daughter - Sally Henning of Port Orchard, Washington; 2 grandchildren: Lynn and Neil Sherk. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Sherk, and by her grandson, Scott Henning.A memorial service will be held at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington on Saturday, May 17, 2003, at 1:00 p.m.Inurnment will be held at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.Memorial donations may be made to:S.K.
