Felicisimo Valdez Buen, 100 of Port Orchard, WA, died June 12, 2012. He was born April 8, 1912 in Bacnotan, La Union, PI to Bruno & Bonifacia (Valdez) Buen, the eldest of 8 children. He graduated from the La Union High School in 1929 and came to Seattle in 1931. Felicisimo did odd jobs in California with fellow Filipino’s during the depression years until World War II, when he joined the Navy Transport and stayed for a while in Japan. After the war, he went out of the service and went to work in the Veterans Home at Retsil, WA for 10 years. He retired in 1979 to turn to berry farming in his Port Orchard farm. Felicisimo went back to the Philippines to marry Eleanor Nebriaga. They resided in Port Orchard where they enjoyed their retirement years. They had no children, but were surrounded with nieces and nephews whom they considered as their own, and blessed with grandchildren whom they showered with their love and care. Public viewing will be from 1 pm to 4 pm Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Rill’s Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard. Funeral Mass at 2 pm on Friday, June 22, 2012 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard with burial following at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
