Ferne Norie Boddy died January 6, 2003 in Bremerton, Washington. She was 94.She was born September 5, 1908 in Dewatto, Washington to Asa and Hanna (McDonald) Fowler; and, was raised by Ed and Anna Niblock (foster parents).She married Francis H. Boddy July 21, 1925 in Everett, Washington.Ferne attended Kirkland High School of Kirkland, Washington in 1926.She worked as one of the first female bus drivers for South Kitsap School District; and, was a school nurse - also for South Kitsap School District.She was a member of Pythian Sisters, Duwamish Tribe Elder.Ferne was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Bremerton, Washington.She is survived by sons - Donald F. Boddy, Sr., of Kingman, Arizona, Bruce Boddy of Roseburg, Oregon, James Ainsworth of Napa, California; daughter - Joanne C. Petersen of Bremerton, Washington; brother - Frank Fowler of Seattle, Washington; sister - Peggy Barker of Bremerton, Washington; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great/great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons - Richard (Dick) Boddy and Roger Boddy and by brothers - Marty Baxter, Jack Baxter and Asa Fowler.Funeral services will be held Our Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, Washington on January 9, 2003 at 1:00 p.m.Interment will be held at Sunset Lane Cemetery in Port Orchard, Washington.Memorial donations may be made to:Hospice of Kitsap CountyP.O.
