Ferne Scott

Ferne Gladys Scott of Port Orchard, WA died November 12, 2006 of natural causes. She was 79. She was born July 26, 1927 in Graton, CA to Elden G. Stine and Martha Gladys (Marshall) Stine. Ferne married William Robert Scott in Port Orchard, WA on November 5, 1946. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, WA in 1946. Ferne was a homemaker, was a member of Homemakers Club early in her marriage, Women for Cascade/Columbia; was very active in many a ministries of the Port Orchard Church of Christ. She was a member of the Church of Christ her entire life. She enjoyed time with her grandchildren, raising orchids and african violets. She was an avid doll collector and thimble collector. Ferne is survived by son - Kevin Scott of California; daughters - Kathi Shaner (Bill) of Abilene, texas, Karen Shewmaker (Jeff) of Portland, OR; sister - Patricia McBeth of Graton, CA; 7 grandchildren (David Shaner, Jennifer Shaner, Darcy Shewmaker, Erin Shewmaker, Scott Shewmaker, Kyle Shewmaker and Katy Shewmaker). A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 18, 2006, 1:00 p.m. at Port Orchard Church of Christ (2595 Carr Lane SE).
