Floyd F. Knutzen of Bremerton, Washington died at Forest Ridge in Bremerton, Washington February 11, 2004. He was 89. He was born August 16, 1914 in Burlington, Washington to George and Anna (Sorensen) Knutzen. Floyd married Amy E. (Gilbert) Knutzen in 1979. He graduated from Burlington High School in Burlington, Washington; and, from Pacific Lutheran College in Tacoma and St. Olaph College in Missouri. Floyd owned and operated 5 grocery stores in Belfair, Manette and Port Orchard in the 1940's. He was later employed as a highway appraiser with the Highway Department in Washington and Michigan - working for 30 years. Floyd is survived by sons - Gilbert Knutzen of Bremerton, Washington, Bruce Knutzen of Tyler, Texas, and Larry Knutzen of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; brother - Vern Knutzen of Skagit County, Washington; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; He was preceded in death by son- Brian Knutzen. There will be a private service with inurnment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park.
