Frances Adeline Hill was born on July 16, 1938 in Martinez, CA. She passed peacefully passed away on September 4, 2019 in her home, surrounded by her partner, Carl Freeland. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary and Marvin Poulsen, her first husband James Stanley Brinkman (2008), her second husband Anthony D. Hill (1997) and her beloved cocker spaniel Holly and her pygmy goat Bouncer.
Frances was raised in Stockton, CA and married upon graduation from high school. As a Navy wife she lived in many locations. She was an accountant for her fathers' garage for many years while also waitressing to take care of her children. She earned an Associate's Degree in Accounting while raising 7 children. Frances settled with her husband in Port Orchard, WA in 1979 when they retired from the Navy. While in Washington, she worked as a book keeper for many organizations including Clifford's Garage in Bremerton.
Frances was an active member of Lions International and served as a Past District Governor, which she was very proud of. She enjoyed spending time with her family and having barbeques, the most memorable being her surprise 80th birthday party. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, making dolls, baking and bowled on serval leagues for many years. She was always working on beautiful gifts for friends and family. Among her favorite items were her sewing machines, her peppermint rose bush, tulips and her different colors of lilies. She also enjoyed going to :"That One Place" on Fridays for her clam chowder. She loved listening to country music; one of her favorite singers was Kenny Chesney.
Frances is survived by her partner of nearly 15 years, Carl Freeland, her four brothers, Stewart Poulsen, Lester Poulsen, Richard Poulsen and Marvin (Lyle) Poulsen, her sister-by-choice Kay Ulm, her 7 children, James Stanley Brinkman 11, Leonard Brinkman, Aaron Brinkman, Lynn Knox, Mark Brinkman, Joseph Brinkman, and Tammy Hill-Addeche, her grandchildren Heather, Craig, Autumn, Kelsey, Henry, Shawn, Marian, Daniel, Jacob, Sara, Ryan and Adam, grandson-by-choice Ricko Easterling, numerous great grandchildren in addition to her partner Carl's family.
