Francis K. Haymaker, 90, of Port Orchard died December 31, 2004 of pneumonia at Harrison Hospital. Born in Mercer County, Missouri, to Jesse S. and Luch Ann (Williams) Haymaker, he was raised and educated there. On July 20, 1940, he married Nema P. Wells in Kitsap County. Mr. Haymaker was a machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 36 years, retiring in 1979. In his younger years, he enjoyed camping with his family, while in retirement he liked puttering in his garden and always looked forward to family gatherings and special dinners. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2002; a daughter, Barbara Jensen; and a granddaughter, Collena Carr. Surviving are two sons, Richard Haymaker and his wife, Christine, of Lakewood and Ed Haymaker and his wife, Stacy Kiyasu, of Langley; two daughters, Sue Jackson and her husband, Travis, and Lonnie Foote and her husband, Donald, all of Yelleville, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren, Jimmy Newton of Lake Tahoe, California, Danny Lewis of South Padre Island, Texas, Kenny and Jesse Jackson both of Yelleville, Bobby Foote of Wasilla, Alaska, Lisa Foote and Dearra Welch, both of Kitsap County, Gary Haymaker of Bremerton, Gaea Kiyasu Haymaker of Portland, Oregon, and Lars Haymaker of Lakewood; 11 great-grandchilden; and two great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Twin Firs Cemetery in Belfair. Arrangements are under the direction of Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard.
