Francis Woodward

Francis Leroy Woodward died at Manor Care Health Services in Gig Harbor, Washington on September 10, 2003. He was 78.He was born in Melvin Village, Illinois September 27, 1924 to George and Bessie (Stone) Woodward.Francis married Madonna M. (Cole) Woodward in Port Orchard, Washington in 1945.He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945 - attaining the rank of Seaman 1 Class.He also worked in Supply at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for many years; and, worked at Safeway in Port Orchard and Bremerton as a Courtesy Clerk for 14 years.Francis enjoyed fishing and hunting; and, was a member of Port Orchard V.F.W. #2669.He is survived by his wife, Madonna (Cole) Woodward of the Port Orchard, Washington family home; daughter - Ruby Reynolds of Port Orchard, WA.; 2 grandchildren (Roxadella Mendoza and Jerry Van Zant, Sr.); 3 great-grandchildren (Tiffany Phillips, Jerry Van Zant, Jr., Jessi Mendoza); 2 great-great-grandchildren (Ashlee and Gabriel).A funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Rill Chapel's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington.
