Fred B. Foltz, 94 of Port Orchard, died in Seattle July 2, 2010. He was born May 31, 1916 in Lewellen, Nebraska to Oran & Elsie (Ward) Foltz. Fred grew up in Nebraska and Colorado and attended the Denver Art College for two years before joining the Army Air Force in 1944. He became a pilot and fought in World War II. While flying a mission, he was shot down over Germany and was MIA/POW. During his service, he earned four bronze stars. After the war, Fred settled in Long Beach, California where he became a glass blower and electrician. Fred moved to Washington in the mid 70’s, and eventually made Port Orchard his home. He is survived by his four children, Diane Fitzgerald of Longmont, CO, John Foltz of Port Orchard, WA, Vicki Ziereis of Avondale, AZ, Jim Foltz of Long Beach, CA, and several grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, August 6, 2010 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
