Fredlin (Freddy) Joseph Paradis, 89, of Port Orchard died Nov. 20, 2012 in Port Orchard. Freddy was born Sept. 10, 1923 in Amesbury, MA to Leon & Laurence (Beauleau) Paradis. He married the former Priscilla I. Morgan Nov. 3, 1946 in Tacoma. She preceded him in death in Aug. of this year.
Freddy worked as a Rigger at PSNS for 32 years, retiring in 1978. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Bunker Hill as a Ship’s Serviceman 3rd class, earning numerous awards including Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal (18 stars), Philippine Liberation Medal, and the Purple Heart.
Freddy enjoyed camping, hunting, square dancing, softball and sports in general, especially the Boston Red Socks. He was a huge animal lover, particularly of dogs. He coached little league for many years and played softball. He was a member of the Shelton Elks, Bremerton Eagles and was raised a Catholic.
Surviving are sister Lorraine (Herbert) Price of New Hampshire; sister-in-law Yvone Morgan of Washington; nieces & nephews John, Jill, James and Jacqueline of New Hampshire, Jennifer and Tom of Florida, Joanne of Virginia, Denise, Terri & Steven of Washington, Shelly of Alabama; numerous great nieces and nephews; and extended family at Orchard Pointe Memory Care Center who took such good care of him and truly loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife Priscilla earlier this year, sister Hazel, brother Faustine, & brother-in-law Richard.
