Mr. Garry A. Spore, Age: 65, resident of Port Orchard, died at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton, Washington on November 17, 2001 due to complications from colon cancer.Mr. Spore had been born to Harold L. and Margaret P.(Kidd) Spore on April 25, 1936 in Port Angeles, Washington. The family moved to Port Orchard in 1941. Garry attended South Kitsap Schools and graduated from South Kitsap High in 1954.He married Patsy Lang in 1955. They were divorced in 1970. He married Cindy Fantz in 1974.Garry worked as a Letter Carrier for twenty seven years for the U.S. Postal Service in Port Orchard and Tacoma, retiring in 1997. He also managed Lile Moving and Storage for seventeen years; and sold life, health and tax sheltered annuities for fifteen years to Kitsap School districts. He was a past president of the Bremerton-Kitsap County Life Underwriters, 1964-1965.Garry enjoyed Steelhead fishing and golf. He was a past member of Kitsap Golf and Country Club, 1967-1980; past member of FOE 2338, BPOE 1181, Navy League, Kiwanis and Bremerton Area Chamber of Commerce.Survivors include his wife, Cindy; two daughters, Vicki Pelton of Sammamish, Washington; Tami Spore of Redmond, Washington; so, David Spore of Selah, Washington; step-son Brian Fantz of Port Orchard; five grandchildren and one great grandson; brothers Jim of Port Orchard, Doug of Bremerton, and Ray of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald in 1992, and stepson, Randy Fantz in 1990.Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, November 21, 2001, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will be held at Rill Chapel at 11 a.m., November 21. Reverend Larry Mead will be officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Lane Cemetery. A reception will be held in his honor at Rill Chapel after interment.All arrangements are under direction of Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
