Dearly loved husband, father, sibling and friend; Gary Tomasch went home to be with his Lord and Savior November 8, 2019. Gary was born January 31st, 1950 in Cleveland, OH. He attended Lakes High School in Tacoma WA, and then went on to graduate from Washington State University—his beloved Cougars. Gary was a dedicated educator, teaching at Cedar Heights Junior High until his retirement in 2003. After retiring, he stayed an additional few years to assist in security. Although he seemed unaware of the measure of his talent, he was an incredible artist in many mediums—painting, pottery, and woodworking to name a few. Most importantly, he was a man who loved his family and friends very, very much. He began dating the love of his life, Liz, in junior high school. They remained together, marrying and settling in Port Orchard, WA where they raised their family. They were married for 48 years. Gary was deservedly proud of his boys, Adam and Aaron. When he wasn't happily driving his Mustang GT, he was barbecuing for family and friends.
Gary is survived by his loving wife Liz Tomasch (von Holt); his sons Adam (Val) and Aaron (Tavia); his father John (aka Jack); his brothers Dale (Mardelle), Keith (Stacey) and Kevin (Michelle); 6 beautiful grandchildren Kendal, Kimber, Gage, Steele, Scarlet and Sierra; brother-in-law David von Holt (Gayle) and sister-in-law Julie von Holt. Gary was preceded in death by his mother Audrey Tomasch. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in support of the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, website
