Genevieve Geier

Genevieve E. Geier passed away February 8, 2012.  She was born October 1, 1925, in Milnor, North Dakota to Robert and Blanche Book. She graduated from Grand Forks High School in 1943. Following graduation she moved to Bremerton, Washington and was employed by Pacific NW Bell until 1951. She married Gordon W. Geier on June 17, 1951, in Bremerton and devoted herself to homemaking and raising their children. Genevieve's interests included reading, RVing, sewing and needlework. She was an active member of Colby United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon, her parents, and one granddaughter. She is survived by her son Steven (Deanna) Geier of Bremerton; daughters Sue (Robert) Madsen of Hood River, OR, Carla (Robin) Teitzel of Portland, OR, Linda (Ralph) Breed of Port Orchard & Lori (Steve) Jackson of Port Orchard; 17 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren & 2 expected; brother Robert Book of Kent, WA; and sister Barbara Sowell of Hoquiam, WA. Memorial service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at at Colby United Methodist Church, 2881 Harvey St SE, Port Orchard. The family requests that memorials be made to Colby UMC, PO Box 4299, South Colby, WA 98384.
