George Guyll

January 18, 1924 — July 3, 2005

George E. Guyll of Port Orchard, Washington died July 3, 2005 in Silverdale, Washington. He was 81. He was born January 18, 1924 in Ballard, Washington to George and Esther (Ericksen) Guyll. George married Margot (Erling) Guyll May 28, 1949 in Port Orchard, Washington. He gradiated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington in 1942. George served six years in the U.S. Navy. He served on LST - WWII active duty at D-Day. He served in Europe, Asia and South America; and, received the WWII Victory Medal and 3 other medals. He worked in Bremerton at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a Planner and Estimator Supervisor for 35 years - retiring in 1979. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Elks, Little League, Elim Lutheran Church; and, helped to found South Kitsap Little League. George was an avid golfer who got to play St. Andrews Course. He was proud to have gotten 2 hole in ones at Gold Mountain. He enjoyed traveling especially to Maui with Margot and with friends. He loved his family, friends and children. George enjoyed building furniture and working in his yard. He is survived by son - Paul Guyll (and wife, Debbie) of Poulsbo, Washington; daughter - Christine Eaton (and husband James) of Bremerton, Washington; brother - Robert Guyll (& wife, Connie) of California; sister - Janet Toepke (and husband, Chuck) of Seattle, Washington; 2 grandchildren (Jesse Guyll and Erik Guyll); 1 great-grandchild (Emma Guyll). He was preceded in death by wife - Margot (Erling) Guyll. A funeral service will be held at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, Washington on Friday, July 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Sunset Lane Memorial Park in Port Orchard, Washington.
