George Lineker

March 31, 1926 — September 20, 2008

George Lineker, 82, of Seabeck passed away on September 20, 2008.  He was born to George Albert and Kate Lineker on March 31, 1926, in Reading, PA. George graduated from The Hill School in Pottstown, PA, the University of Maryland  in College Park, MD and The Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, VA.  On March 17, 1966, George married Priscilla White in Baltimore, MD.  He served honorably in the US Army from 1946 to 1977 and retired as an Infantry Colonel. George went on to attend the Virginia Theological Seminary and became an Episcopal priest.  He served as rector of ST Paul’s Episcopal Church in Wellsboro, PA for 18 years and retired in 1993.  George was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, soldier and priest.  He cherished his family, enjoyed traveling, had an unquenchable thirst for history, was an accomplished equestrian and classical guitarist, enjoyed riding trains and going to the opera.  He also enjoyed jumping out of airplanes, dancing and spending time with his grandchildren. But most of all he loved Priscilla, she was the love of his life – his soul mate and wife. George was preceded in death by his sister Verna and his parents. He is survived by his loving wife Priscilla; sister, Virginia of Wilmington, DE; children Jimmy Lineker and wife Rose, Melanie Reeder and husband Bill, Herb Lineker and companion Dee, Phoebe Casasanta and husband Mark, Beverly Lineker, Les Lineker and companion Ruth, Amanda Holmes and husband Frank, and Bert Lineker and companion Hao; grandchildren; Renee, Marlana, Michael, Michael, Michael Bruce, Andrew, Corey, Chad, Dillon, Chelsea, Morgan, Jake, Dimitry, Madeline, Spencer and Vicki; great grandchildren; Taylor and Darius. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 25th, at 1 p.m. at ST Antony’s Episcopal Church, 10239 Old Frontier Rd NW, Silverdale, WA 98383.
