George E. Prichard Sr. passed away on February 27, 2008 following a brief illness. He was 90. George was born in Blaine, WA on April 6, 1917 to Garrett and Jane (Dorr) Prichard. He graduated from South Kitsap High in 1935. On April 6, 1942 he married Leona (Davis) Prichard. She preceded him in death in 2004. George served a machinist apprenticeship at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and retired as a Planner and Estimator in 1973 with 32 years of service. George is survived by brothers Jean and Kenneth and sister, Janice (Les) Davis. George is also survived by sons Stephen (Sharon) of Port Orchard, George Jr. (Patti) of Chico, daughters Marilyn (Michael) Fleenor of Spokane and Kathy (Al) Todd of Port Orchard. Grandchildren: Lori Prichard, Barbara Ablitt, David Prichard, James Paulus, Jeff Paulus, Michelle Schneider, Kevin Prichard, Brooke Dillon and Ashley Kaiser. He also leaves behind eleven great grandchildren. As he was one of nine children, he also leaves behind many other nieces and nephews. George was a member of the Bremerton Elks for forty years, the Sons of Norway and NARFE. His favorite pastimes were family, golf, gardening and his cat Josie. Celebration of Life at 1:00pm on March 4, 2008 at Rill's Life Tribute Center in Port Orchard, followed by inurnment at Sunset Lane Memorial Park, also in Port Orchard. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Washington Elks Therapy Program for Children at PO Box 110760, Tacoma, WA 98411 or through the Bremerton Lodge at 4131 Pine Rd, Bremerton, WA 98310.
